Job Description
Join The Home Depot as a Sales Associate and help customers bring their home improvement projects to life. As a Sales Associate, you will be a product expert in your assigned department, providing knowledgeable advice and friendly service to customers throughout their shopping experience. You will help customers find the right products, answer questions about features and applications, and ensure they have everything needed to complete their projects successfully.
In this dynamic role, you will become an expert in your department's products, from power tools and lumber to plumbing fixtures and garden supplies. You will build relationships with regular customers, stay current on new products and promotions, and work collaboratively with team members to maintain attractive displays and well-stocked shelves. Your product knowledge and customer focus will directly impact sales and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and assess their project needs and goals
- Provide product recommendations based on customer requirements
- Demonstrate product features, benefits, and proper usage
- Locate products throughout the store and check inventory
- Process sales transactions and promote credit card applications
- Maintain department organization, cleanliness, and product displays
- Stock shelves and build displays during slower periods
- Stay current on product knowledge, promotions, and sales events
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals
- Handle customer concerns professionally and escalate when needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Customer service or retail sales experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Willingness to learn about products and home improvement applications
- Basic math skills for pricing and measurements
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Enthusiasm for helping customers and solving problems
