Job Description
Join The Home Depot as an Assistant Manager and play a key leadership role in managing one of our high-volume retail stores. As an Assistant Manager, you will partner with the Store Manager to oversee all aspects of store operations including sales, customer service, inventory management, and associate development. You will lead multiple departments, coach supervisors and associates, and drive operational excellence while fostering a positive, customer-focused culture.
In this senior leadership position, you will manage opening and closing procedures, oversee daily operations in the Store Manager's absence, and make critical decisions to ensure customer satisfaction and business results. You will analyze performance metrics, develop action plans to address opportunities, and work closely with your leadership team to execute company initiatives and seasonal programs. Your strategic thinking and people leadership skills will be essential to achieving store goals.

Responsibilities
- Partner with Store Manager to lead all store operations and initiatives
- Manage and develop department supervisors and key associates
- Oversee store opening and closing procedures and cash handling
- Analyze sales, margin, and inventory reports to drive improvements
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulations
- Lead hiring, training, and performance management processes
- Manage store operations in Store Manager's absence
- Drive customer service excellence and resolve escalated issues
- Control expenses and shrink while maintaining operational standards
- Execute merchandising plans and seasonal programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred
- 3-5 years retail management experience required
- Proven track record of achieving sales and operational goals
- Strong leadership and people development abilities
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with retail management systems and MS Office
- Outstanding customer service orientation
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
