Job Description
Join The Home Depot as a Forklift Operator and operate specialized equipment critical to our store and warehouse operations. As a certified Forklift Operator, you will safely move heavy materials, load and unload trucks, and organize products in overhead storage areas. You will play a key role in receiving operations, helping customers with large purchases, and ensuring our store is properly stocked with building materials and merchandise.
In this specialized role, you will operate sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers to move pallets of lumber, appliances, building materials, and other heavy merchandise. You will work both indoors and outdoors, performing daily equipment inspections, following strict safety protocols, and coordinating with sales associates to retrieve products for customers. Your skill and precision will keep operations running smoothly and safely.

Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers safely and efficiently
- Load and unload delivery trucks with palletized merchandise
- Move products to and from overhead storage locations
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
- Retrieve products from overhead storage for customers and associates
- Organize warehouse and outdoor storage yards
- Follow all OSHA safety regulations and company procedures
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counting
- Train new operators on equipment and safety procedures
- Maintain clean and organized equipment staging areas
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Valid forklift certification required (or ability to obtain)
- 1+ years of forklift operating experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Strong depth perception and spatial awareness
- Excellent safety awareness and attention to detail
- Flexible schedule including various shifts as needed
